Only the people picked when it was created. You can change that any time from the Journey’s ••• menu.
Photos and videos meant only for you. Nothing in the Vault is ever visible to a family, and it locks whenever you leave the app.
A rename is private to you. Everyone else still sees the name that person chose for themselves.
The Journey keeps collecting memories right up until the reveal — it is a living gift, not a snapshot.
Creating a family, starting journeys and adding memories is free to begin with. If paid plans are introduced for larger storage, existing accounts will be told well in advance and nothing you have already added will be taken away or locked behind a payment.
Support cannot read it back to you, because we do not store it in a readable form. Use the recovery flow on the Vault screen in the app. This is deliberate: a passcode that support can recover is a passcode anyone impersonating you can recover.
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any phone. The Vault asks for its passcode on each device separately, and changing your password signs every device out at once.
Yes, for capture. Photos, videos and voice notes taken offline are queued on the device and upload themselves as soon as you have a connection again. Viewing memories you have not downloaded yet needs a connection.
Open the family from your Profile and choose to leave. Memories you added to shared journeys remain with those journeys; anything in your private Vault stays yours and goes with your account.
From Settings → Account in the app, or by writing to us. Deletion removes your account, your private Vault and the media you uploaded. See the Delete your data page for exactly what is removed and when.
Yes. Settings → Downloads lets you save what you have added to the device. You are never locked in, and you do not need to ask permission to take a copy.
No. Your memories are not used to train machine-learning models, are not sold, and are not shared with advertisers. This is stated as a commitment in the Privacy Policy, not only here.
Only people explicitly invited to that vault. Each member sets their own passcode rather than sharing one, and removing an item needs more than one member to agree.
Check Settings → Notifications inside Heirloom first, then your phone’s system notification settings for Heirloom. If both are on and you still hear nothing, write to support with your phone model and OS version.
